THE National Secretary, Oye Progressive Union, Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Mr Oluwaseun Owolabi, has urged the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Ministry of Education and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Bord (JAMB) to conduct the post-Unified Matriculation Examination for the Federal University, Oye Ekiti.
Mr Owolabi said this while addressing journalists at Oye Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of the state, recently, adding that the host community had enough and viable infrastructure for the immediate take-off of the institution.
He said that Oye community had renovated some blocks of classrooms and administrative buildings with viable logistics to host principal officers, saying that adequate provision had been made for student hostels.
He said that some students and parents had been visiting the temporary site of the university for information on admission processes, adding that “some letters addressed to the registrar and the vice chancellor of the university are received in Oye Ekiti.”
While commending President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration for the establishment of the university in the area, he said that the university would bring a lot of development to the state and empower the youth meaningfully.
Owolabi, therefore, urged Nigerians to rally round President Jonathan so as to take the country to a greater height while also urging the people to support Governor Kayode Fayemi, so as to be able to develop the state to an enviable standard.
