Bayero University Lecturers Join Students in Kano protest



Academic staff of the Bayero university Kano-BUK early this week has joined the students in the rally and protest against the total removal of subsidy in the country. The ASUU members, who are also lecturers, joined their students and other people yesterday, at The Silver Jubilee roundabout to protest the removal of subsidy on petrol.
The protesters numbering over 30,000 carried placards and green leaves complained of the level of rise in the cost of living in the school community following the fuel subsidy removal.
Speaking on the issue, the president of The Bayero university Academic union, Dr. Mahmud Lawan, said they decided to join the protests to express their displeasure over Federal government ill-timed fuel subsidy removal.
The protest however was peaceful as no live was lost, and no one was injured. The school community called on the government to address the issue to avert similar cases.
Lecturers and Students in one fight. Is this fuel subsidy going to give Nigeria a better Nation?
